History

In the beginning, there were two eyes. One eye saw the world through rose-colored glass.A beautiful realm, full of unique shinobi, each with their own past and future. This eye saw a bright future.

The other eye perceived the same world, though in a different way. It saw the bright world, with green grass, green trees, and blue water. Then it looked out, further, beyond what was right in front of it.
It saw the forests of Morigakure, where huge trees blocked out the sky, and many fungi grew in the darkness that dwelled there. It saw the thousand lights that stayed lit in the dark- the souls of those who thrived, despite their environment.

It looked to Kaminaregakure, and it saw the eternal rain that fell in the Land of Storms, and it saw the city of iron that towered over everything else. It saw the technology there, powered by the crashing thunder and flashing lightning that ruled the skies. It saw how people had adapted to suit their needs.
It looked to the Hidden Metal, and saw a land entirely covered in steel. It saw how people had prospered.

It looked to the Shockwave, and saw the enormous tremors that constantly shook everything. It looked to the Inferno, and saw the terrible fire ever burning there. It looked to the Ash, and saw an eternal rain of cinders in the wake of Inferunogakure, forever blocking out the sun. It looked to Kazangakure, and saw the people who would live in a volcano to establish their strength. It saw the deserts of the Dust, the Haze. It saw the far continent of Yukigakure, and those who lived there.

This eye saw the web, stretching out over everything. A web made of hopes and dreams, desires and solutions. Accomplishments, failures, resources, thoughts, and lives. It saw the multitudes of connections, the ways these threads contacted each other, and the eye saw new possibilities; opportunities for new  threads.

It traced a thread, winding it's way closer and closer. The eye looked down for the first time, and saw that it stood on the center of the web, perched on eight long legs.

The spider woke, and it's eyes welcomed the sight of those webs still present.

It had been pulling the strings from the darkness so far. But it was time to move further along now. It walked into the sunlight, eyes flinching from a light not seen for an age.
